Ruby-Splashed Cape

Photobucket
Embroidered Huichol cape, Museo Zacatecano, Zacatecas,México

Perhaps you danced at weddings
Twirling round in glee;
But now as I behold you,
Art is what I see.

Ruby Element

A view of a boutique inside the Melbourne Central shopping complex.
The steps up are polished wood and the red symbol is a little like a Celtic design.

Element of style
A touch of romantic dream
Atmospheric space

Girl in Ruby

Photobucket
Wedding guests await the bride and groom, Guadalupe, Mexico

Girl in ruby, waiting there
For the lovely bridal pair,
Do you wish you, too, could wed,
Girl in ruby, girl in red?

Ruby Fantasy

Part of a tiny fantasy village in the Boneo Maze and Wetlands on the Mornington Peninsula

Sweet small character
Lives in an enchanted world
Like a secret dream

**DID YOU KNOW? To Aboriginals in Australia, red is the symbolic colour for the earth or land.
This colour appears on the Aboriginal flag.
Indigenous flag...
Black for the first people
Red for the earth and the spirit within
Yellow for the sun nurturing life...

Extract from my Australia Day Reflections post.

Doorway to Adventure

Photobucket
An enticing doorway in Zacatecas, Mexico

They told me to look behind the dark door,
The door that was outlined in red.
They said that I’d find some gold on the floor—
At least, that’s how I heard it said.

But when the door cracked and I went within,
I found only dust, and no gold;
Dejected and poor, I’ve taken to gin—
And now my sad story is told.

Ruby Time!

A rosella in my Mornington Peninsula world enjoying the sweetness of apple blossom.

Glowing red feathers
Like a bright flash in the sky
Like a living gem

**DID YOU KNOW? Red is the colour for beauty in many cultures!

Get Your Ruby Fix Here!

Photobucket
A young street vendor sketches while waiting for customers, Zacatecas, Mexico

With customers scarce,
He picks up his pen,
And draws to his heart’s content.

And now we all know
The bent of his soul—
And where all his pesos went!
