A Ruby Lipped Mask

My students in Year 9 English have just completed a study of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
They were required to create a character mask for their assessment oral.
This is one of those masks.
Many beautiful masks were created, so I decided to make a display of them in our room.

Shakespeare's art lives on
Still he reaches youthful minds
Still he can inspire

What a lovely mask, and a fun assignment too! (How come I never got to do that sort of thing in English class?)

Really exquisite craftsmanship on the mask, very impressive, for the Star-Cross'd...

I'm amazed by the skill of a ninth grader. How lucky those students are. 14- 15 years of age must be the ultimate time to read Romeo and Juliet.

That mask is beautiful - the skill and artistry of kids that age is not often noticed by most adults. Yet when given the challenge, they rise to the occasion wonderfully. A great teacher is always the key...

I love reading Shakespeare...this was a beautiful Haiku!!! And the image is great...reminds me a little of the Masquarade in Phantom of the Opera; another classic!!
