If I Were a Seagull

River Liffey photo Dublin2012-13069a_zps8f32fdc0.jpg
The River Liffey, Dublin, Ireland

If I were a seagull
Where the Liffey flows,
I would seek a nesting place
Red as any rose;

Signs across the river,
One of them will do—
There I’ll find a resting place,
There I’ll hide from you!

Seagull is a beautiful bird :-) I do not like them when they go in our pond and try to eat our fish :-( What a lovely poem :-) Ruby Tuesday here :-)

Gulls can be obnoxious, especially when loitering around fast food eateries. Yet, these Dubliners are gracious and peaceful, showing the photo artist that they can behave well...they qre quiet and much more attractive than most I've met!

lovely image and poem as well.

Lucky you, still staying in Dublin. Seagulls ARE polite, and also happy and extrovert in Dublin.

If I were a seagull I would surely fly to Ireland!

Love the jaunty thoughts on the seagull! I used to live in Liffey in Tasmania, (in the Western Tiers) and the Liffey River used to run by our property there!

Great photo! The seagulls look like they own the place.

Poem and image are both very nice. I took a look on the red symbolism page and don't see anything about it meaning good luck in China. Everything good is red there! Wedding dresses, gift envelopes, lots of stuff.

They look like they're enjoying the view!

I like them but they like my plants too much. I live on the top storey of a "tower," a few kilometers away from the sea, therefore they visit my balcony often :-)

They are so cute, always at the look out. Thank you for hosting the party :-)
